Rainbow Bridge

Western Hills Humane Society has much happiness but also endures the loss of many animals.

Volunteers helped to put together the Mother’s Garden – visible upon driving up to the shelter.

Through the help of the Spearfish High School Shelter Pals, the Rainbow Bridge was later added.

The Memorial Brick Path in the garden area is to honor deceased family pets at the Rainbow Bridge.

Western Hills Humane Society is a no-kill pet shelter, dedicated to helping, homeless, sick or injured animals. In doing so, we seek suitable homes for animals without owners. The shelter relies on donations and fundraising efforts and is also funded by the City of Spearfish, Lawrence County, and grants. Without the generous community of Spearfish lending a helping hand and donating we would not be the Humane Society we are today.
